Looking to relax and experience exceptional Artesian bathing?

Charlotte Plains is an authentic working sheep and cattle station (half the size of Singapore!) 54 km east of Cunnamulla in southwest Queensland.

Traveling and camping are all about experiencing. Not only do you have a great campsite, where you may have your own campfire, but the beautiful Artesian Bore is there for you to enjoy, and wonder about all the free-flowing mineral water from deep below the earth’s surface. It’s a real attraction.

At the Bore Site, it is very peaceful as there is plenty of space so you are not all cramped together. Remember no power, only drop loos and the beautiful clear water. We also have powered sites and accommodation further away near the woolshed.

This property has been in the family for over 90 years, so I am passionate about the history. I do tours of the Wool Shed, the Home of Memorabilia – Museum, and the old station cemetery.

By offering you a camping site on a working station, I hope to bridge the gap between the country and the city folk and let you have a glimpse of life in the bush.  Roads are usually good. Check when you make a booking. I hope to see you soon. Happy traveling!

HOW TO GET THERE
Please consider the conditions and seasonal weather before coming to visit.

Travelling from Cunnamulla
From the Caltex Service Station on the edge of town drive 45 km along the Balonne Highway towards St George. At the second large sign saying “Charlotte Plains”, turn and travel 15 km (dirt road) to the homestead. The first “Charlotte Plains” sign is more suitable in wet weather but is a long journey.

Travelling from St George
Travel towards Cunnamulla via Bollon. The first “Charlotte Plains” sign & white mailbox is approx 135km from Bollon. Drive 15 km (dirt road) into the homestead.
