Cecil Plains Weir – Apex Park Camp Site is a large camping area where campers/caravanners can set up for a maximum of 3 days. The camp site is situated along the Condamine River, perfect for fishing, swimming, and boating, river levels permitting – often too low.
HOW TO GET THERE
Cecil Plains is 80km West of Toowoomba via the Toowoomba-Cecil Plains Road.
SITE ACCESS
The camp site is located on the eastern approach to Cecil Plains, access is via the Cecil Plains – Toowoomba Road, immediately after crossing The Condamine River bridge.
FEES & BOOKINGS
There is no charge for the use of this facility, so if you are staying at this site we encourage you to help keep it clean, and please visit and support the local community.
FACILITIES
Lots of open space but only a smaller hard stand area if wet. Drinking Water (town water) available for filling tanks at rear of amenities block.
THINGS TO DO
Cecil Plains is a well established cotton growing area and the Cotton Gin here was once the largest in Queensland; unfortunately tours are no longer available but if you are there in season you will see harvesting in progress (March-April).
RULES.
This area is provided by Toowoomba Regional Council as a Picnic and Camping area. There is a 72 hour limit here.
