Carpenter Rocks is a small coastal town located few kilometres south-west of Mount Gambier. Self contained vehicles can rest for up to 72 hours behind the town\’s community hall free of charge, but a donation for the association is appreciated. The site is pet friendly and has facilities such as toilets, covered seating, and barbeque areas.
While included in our Free Camps category this site requests a donation of $5 to assist with upkeep, this may be paid at the Deli nearby.
HOW TO GET THERE
From Mount Gambier take Commercial Street West and turn left at the roundabout into White Avenue. Continue for 36.2km (becomes Carpenters Rocks Road) to the Community Hall on your right. Do not camp in Car Park.

As this is a donation camping area, we encourage you to keep it clean and please support the local community.
A donation will be appreciated to help upkeep of the site. The box is located near the toilet, if not there please leave payment at the Deli nearby..
THINGS TO DO
Visitors will appreciate the town\’s beautiful bay and enjoy surfing, diving or fishing at Carpenter Rocks.

Great little spot must see
Fabulous spot.
BUT do NOT go in March!!!! Had to leave March fly’s swarmed driving us mad as soon as you stepped out side.
Paid for three but stayed one night in March 2017.
