Burren Junction Bore Baths and Camp Ground (FC)

Located in the central northern Western Plains of NSW, in the wheat, cotton and cattle agricultural area of the state, the small township of Burren Junction lies about halfway between Walgett and Narrabri on the Kamilaroi Highway. The free camping area is provided and maintained by the Walgett Shire Council, and offers visitors to the Artesian Bore Water Baths basic amenities such as bbq, filtered water, showers, toilets and a dump point. The site is otherwise fairly basic and open, so there is plenty of room for all sizes of vans and rigs.

The township has a pub and an RSL, but limited other facilities and opportunities to obtain provisions.

As with many of the Artesian Baths, the water maintains a pretty constant 41.5 degrees and is said to have therapeutic value. Please be sure to read and comply with the conditions of entry into the water for your safety and to help maintain this valuable resource in good condition. The baths are closed during the summer months.

While there is no charge for staying at the site, donations are welcomed and it would be appreciated if you could ensure you keep your site clean and tidy.

HOW TO GET THERE
The Burren Bore Road is 2.7km East of the edge of the township turning to the South.  The baths are 200m on the right.
