Burdekin River camping area offers a peaceful setting on the banks of the Burdekin River, with no facilities. Access is along an unsealed section of road to the camping area and is only accessible to four-wheel-drive vehicles. Proceed with care in times of wet weather, especially if travelling with a camper trailer as the road can become rough and boggy with minor rainfall. The road is closed during wet periods, which may occur between November and March.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car and camper trailers.
Camp site surface: dirt.
SITE ACCESS
The camp site is near the entrance to the park, 700 metres from the main gate.
The park is 42 kilometres north of Charters Towers. Access is via the Gregory Developmental Road (Lynd Highway). From the south, turn right onto an unsealed vehicle track at Fletcher Creek camping reserve and travel a further 2.5 kilometres along this track to the park entrance.
The access road is unsealed and only accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles. Proceed with care in times of wet weather. The road is closed during wet periods, which may occur between November and March. Check with RACQ for road conditions (see tourism information links for contact details) and the Bureau of Meteorology for updated weather reports.
Certain areas of the former Dalrymple township are privately owned. Public access is not allowed in these areas. Please observe and respect ‘private property’ signs.
Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.
FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.55 per person per night or $26.20 per family group per night.
$3.60 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free. Read more about CAMPING COSTS & BOOKINGS.

There are no facilities available on this camp ground.

Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
