Sept 2020 1st school holiday weekend. Wonderful place however very run down with a large area near lookout cordened off due to lack of repairs. Only three toilets and 3 showers for female campers with nearly every powered site filled. Lack of outdoor showers for skiers beside the water’s edge. Amenities not cleaned over weekend not until 9am Monday morning. Polite overworked staff with little support. Neglect of funding from State and commonwealth government since 1988 considering other dam sites in Queensland are far better equipped for tourists and locals. There are at least 3 shires and a large population in Townsville that would benefit from an upgrade of this facility. The price is fair at $19 a night for a powered site.
