The reserve is located on Chaffey Dam which provides valuable public recreation in an attractive setting in the Peel Valley. The area provides campground accessible to caravans, motorhomes, and big rigs with site suitable for tents. Dump point by the toilet block is now provided.
HOW TO GET THERE
From Tamworth follow Oxley Highway to Nemingha and turn right onto Nundle Road (signed), around 43km from Tamworth turn right onto the access road and follow this about 800m to the campground.

THINGS TO DO
Water sports such as swimming, sailing, boating and fishing are popular activities on the lake. There are beautiful parks and reserves around the dam where bush walking and picnicking can be enjoyed. Fish found include yellowbelly, trout and catfish, while waterbirds such as pelicans, plovers, cormorants, ibis and wild duck grace the surface and banks of the dam.
