Bush camping in a peaceful setting.
Blencoe Falls camping area offers remote camping for adventurous ad experienced campers. The campsite is set beside Blencoe Creek. 4WD is recommended and campers are well-advised to stay on the marked tracks. The campsite features open woodland with large group camping areas and a number of private sheltered sites along the creek. The camping area can be reached by four-wheel-drive vehicles only. It is not accessible for trailers, caravans, buses or motorhomes (off-road caravans and camper trailers excepted).
A number of sites: large open areas without separately defined sites. There are also a small number of separate, secluded sites along Blencoe Creek.
Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, off-road caravans and camper trailers, walk-in camping, and large groups.
Camp site surface: dirt and grass.
SITE ACCESS
The camping area is signposted on the left just after the Blencoe Creek bridge.
Wallaman Falls
Wallaman Falls is 51km southwest of Ingham, about a 1hr drive through rural properties. Travel west from Ingham along Abergowrie Road to Trebonne. From here the route is well signposted. While part of the road is unsealed it can still be accessed using a conventional vehicle. Care is required on the range, which is slippery when wet. Towing caravans is not recommended.
Yamanie pick-up point
The Yamanie pick-up point is 60km from Ingham, about a 45min drive through rural properties. Travel west from Ingham along Abergowrie Road. At the end of the road, you will find a gate – the entrance to Girringun National Park. Please close the gate behind you. Beyond the gate, 4WDs are recommended.
Henrietta gate pick-up point
Travel west about 24km from Ingham along Abergowrie Road. Take the second turn left, past the Ashton Hotel, onto Sheahan’s Road. From here the road is well signposted. Please leave all gates as you find them.
Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park, there should be signs of the actual campgrounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.
FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Permits must be pre-booked and are advisable to book well in advance for school holidays and long weekends. Book up to 12 months in advance.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.85 per person per night or $27.40 per family group per night.
$3.75 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.
