Big Lagoon Campground – Francois Peron National Park (CG)

Francois Peron National Park features four bush camping areas with basic facilities at South Gregories, Gregories, Bottle Bay and Big Lagoon. A fifth camping area exists at Herald Bight with camping available along the soft sandy beaches. A toilet is provided at this site. All camping areas are accessible by high-clearance four-wheel drives only. Tyre pressures must be reduced for the soft sand conditions. Caravans are not recommended due to the narrow and soft sand tracks.

SITE ACCESS
Denham is four hours’ drive from Geraldton and three hours’ drive from Carnarvon. Francois Peron National Park is a further 15 minutes’ drive from Denham or 25 minutes from Monkey Mia.
By road from Perth, take the Brand Highway to Geraldton and the North West Coastal Highway to Overlander Roadhouse, then turn left to Denham. Two-wheel drive access is limited up to the Peron Homestead area. To travel north of the homestead you will need a high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle and will need to reduce tyre pressures to access the soft and sandy tracks.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions

FEES & BOOKINGS
Fees are from $11/adult per night, $7/concession card holder per night, $3/child per night (over 5 and under 16 years)

No bookings, this Park has a site entry station, payment in cash may be required.

FACILITIES
Basic facilities toilet and gas barbecues.

THINGS TO DO
Bush camping, four-wheel driving, walking and beach fishing are popular in the park with swimming and boating popular pastimes in the marine park.

GUIDELINES
Very few campgrounds have waste bins – take all waste with you when you leave.
