A bush camp with basic facilities, before venturing to this location, you will need to acquire a permit from the Central Land Council. Currently, this permit costs $180. This takes approximately 3 weeks to get.
Access via the Hay River Track will be required to pay a transit fee and you must stay at least one night.
You will require a 4WD to access and is closed between November – March each year due to the excessive heat.
The campground is shaded by the surrounding large gums providing some respite to the high temperatures.
FACILITIES
There are toilets, hot showers, kitchen, laundry tup and bore water is available.
HOW TO GET THERE
This campground is located South of Anatye off the Plenty Highway; as roads here are not mapped on many maps we advise the use of appropriate off-road mapping and gps to access this campground. The following is a guide only.
Turn South off the Plenty Highway 3.6km West of the Arthur River campground and Arthur River bridge.
Follow this track for 30.3km and turn right, after a further 21.4km bear right and almost immediately turn right. The campground is a further 4.9km.
