This tidy, well maintained park at Murray Bridge, just an hour south-east of Adelaide, is a great place to pull up and use as a base to explore all that the region has to offer in more detail. The park overlooks the mighty Murray, so you can watch the paddle wheelers glide past on their tours up and down the river, wander over and wet a line, or just relax with a round at the park’s mini golf course.
The grassy, level sites are suitable for all campers, so whether you prefer the tent or trailer, the van or motorhome, or the luxury of the big rigs, there is room for you in this sheltered park. All the modern amenities are well maintained and clean, and you can pick up all your supplies in town.
There is also a great choice of on-site accommodation available, from the simple budget and standard cabins, on through a selection of deluxe configurations and even all the way up to a luxury villa option with all the bells and whistles, meaning that whatever your accommodation needs are, you’ll find it’s offered at this park.
Being at the centre of a thriving agricultural community, banking, medical support and supplies, shopping, restaurants and clubs etc are all available in Murray Bridge.
Apart from the water activities of boating, fishing and swimming in the river, a short trip to the Mannum Dock Museum will reward you with displays of some of the history of the River and its resilient residents over the years, as well as a walk around one of the old river boats.
There are heritage buildings and trails in the area to be explored, as well as some rare examples of the endangered flora and fauna of the disappearing wetlands in the region. Nearby Monarto zoological and conservation park is both entertaining and informative for young and old alike.
Avoca Dell Caravan Park is a Family Friendly Tourist Park and has a Playground for the children.
