Just south of Innisfail, the August Moon is a great place to stop when you’re travelling The Bruce. Close to the Great Barrier Reef and a selection of excellent reef tours, as well as magnificent rainforest creek walks and mountain views in the nearby National Parks, this is another beautiful site to add to your travel itinerary.

With plenty of room for everyone from campers and caravanners and on to larger rigs and motor homes, this friendly park is just the spot to spread out for a quiet stay, or to use as a perfect base to explore the surrounding towns and natural wonders. The large, shady sites, many with the ease of drive through access, make setting up a breeze. No Van? – no problem, with many on-site cabins to choose from.

While you’re there, cook up a storm for yourself or to share in the beaut, open camp kitchen, or just relax around the pool while you get ready for tomorrow’s adventure. The park is well equipped with all the facilities you need to make your stay comfortable and easy. It is also pet friendly, so bring your well behaved little four legged family with you as well.

Fishers will love keeping their lines wet here, with a choice of river, beach and ocean-charter angling all available in the area.
With Innisfail only a few minutes away, you have the advantage of access to all the normal large town facilities without being in the middle of it all.

HOW TO GET THERE
From the North travelling South from Innisfail on the Bruce highway (A1) the entrance is 1km past the bridge over the South Johnstone River, on the left.

From the South travelling North on the Bruce Highway the site is 3km North of the Mourilyan Harbour turn off.

SITE ACCESS
Pull into the Book In Lane on the Left and Report to Office located on the Right.
Outside Office hrs please Press After Hours Button located near Office door.

Fee is from $38/night per couple for unpowered sites and $42/night per couple for powered sites.

THINGS TO DO
Base yourself at the park and explore the many beautiful natural attractions the region has to offer. Just a short drive to Paronella Park, Josephine Falls, Babinda Boulders, Millaa Millaa Falls Circuit, Mamu Canopy Tree Walk, Cairns, Atherton Tablelands, Mission Beach and Tully just to name a few. Great Fishing, nature walks, mountain bike riding, and hiking with Queenslands highest mountain, Mt Bartle Frere almost on the park’s doorstep.
