The Auburn River camping area is located on the northern bank of the Auburn River. Here one can enjoy camping in a picturesque bush setting above the Auburn River. There’s an open eucalypt forest. In addition, the camping site is a short walk from the river and bushwalking opportunities.

Number of sites: Five camping nodes, sites are not numbered.
Campsites are suitable for: Tent camping beside your car, walk-in camping, caravans, camper trailers, and large groups.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
SITE ACCESS
Auburn River is about 410km north-west of Brisbane or 225km west of Maryborough. It is 40km southwest of Mundubbera, which is on the Burnett Highway.
Travel 13km south along the Mundubbera-Durong Road to the Hawkwood Road intersection. Turn west along Hawkwood Road for about 20km until you reach the Auburn River National Park turn-off.
From the turn-off, drive a further 7km to the park along a rough unsealed road. Four-wheel-drive is recommended in wet weather. Stay on the road, as soils are treacherous when wet.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.85 per person per night, or $27.40 per family per night.
$3.75 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved educational excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.
Most bookings are made online through the Queensland National Parks Booking Service, and your permit is issued by email.
FACILITIES
Toilets, a gas barbecue, shelter shed, picnic tables, and communal fire rings. Tank water is available in the park—boil before drinking. River water is unsuitable for drinking.
RULES
Fires are permitted in fire rings only.
