Adels Grove Camping Ground (CG)

A popular oasis for travelers along the Overlander’s Way and Savannah Way, Adels Grove is a remote tourist mecca attracting visitors from around the world for its unexpected beauty and idyllic natural surrounds. It sits alongside Lawn Hill Creek, a pristine spring-fed waterway ideal for cooling off on a warm outback day.

Adels Grove has two campsites to choose from. Top Campground that has pet-friendly sites and can accommodate visitors wanting to use a generator, conditions apply. The Grove large shady area situated on beautiful Lawn Hill Creek allows campfires but pets or generators are permitted.

Adels Grove Camping Ground is located 10 km from the Lawn Hill Gorge in the Boodjamulla National Park and 50 km from the world heritage Riversleigh Fossil fields.

HOW TO GET THERE
From Cloncurry, Normanton, and Julia Creek proceed to Burke & Wills Roadhouse where you will take the Wills Development Road to Gregory, after passing the Gregory Pub turn left over the high bridge, and the road is sealed for the first 17km, then another 28km on unsealed road to the Century Mine turn off. At the turn off point travel straight ahead for approx. 30km to a Y section, veer left and it is 10km to Adels Grove.

From Borroloola heading east, you have the option to stop and stay at Hell’s Gate roadhouse, before travellling onto Doomadgee. Approximately 7kms past Doomadgee, turn off right, travel for approx. 35km then turn left down through Lawn Hill Station (Doomadgee to Adels Grove is 125km) (from Burketown travelling west turn left 7km prior to reaching Doomadgee)
