Gin Gin Creek Rest Area (FC)

This is a large size site just north of Gin Gin on the Bruce Highway.

HOW TO GET THERE
Gin Gin is on the Bruce highway between Gympie and Gladstone and 114km North of Maryborough. 

SITE ACCESS
Access is wide and easy from both directions.   There are a wide choice of sites ranging up close to the highway and some further in, which reduces the noise a little.  There are sites to the side of the roadway, and also some on level grassed areas. 

FEES & BOOKINGS
There is no charge for the use of this facility, so if you are staying at this site we encourage you to help keep it clean, and please visit and support the local community. 

FACILITIES
The site is well facilitated with two toilet blocks and waste bins.  It is suitable for rigs of all sizes.  The site also doubles up as a Driver Reviver station at certain times of the year.   There is a small creek that runs beside the site. 

RULES.
As this is a free site, we encourage you to keep it clean and visit and support any local communities.  There is a 20 hour limit at this site.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Whilst this area is technically a Rest Area, the Department of Transport has permitted the use of this particular Rest Area for Overnight Stays. Time limits do apply and are stipulated in our features below, but there should also be signs available on site to indicate this.

Rules on the length of stay at rest areas vary between controlling authorities.

Caravans and motorhomes are not considered heavy vehicles, and should not stop at heavy vehicle locations.

Please note: Rest areas are not designed to be camping grounds or caravan parks. Using rest areas for multiple overnight stays as part of a planned itinerary is not in keeping with their intended purpose, unless clearly indicated. Those needing facilities for an extended stay are encouraged to look for camping areas or caravan parks in towns along the way.
