This is one of several un-serviced camp sites available in the Arthur Pieman Conservation Area. There are also three other serviced camp sites within the Conservation Area.
The Arthur Pieman Conservation Area is a 103 147 hectare reserve in north-west Tasmania. The reserve contains spectacular coastal landscapes, an extraordinary richness of Aboriginal cultural heritage, and highly significant and diverse ecosystems. It is managed to protect these values and enable a range of recreational activities.
SITE ACCESS
From the north: The Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area begins just south of the township of Marrawah, where the C214 road takes you south toward Arthur River and beyond.
From the south: Beginning at Corinna, the Western Explorer (C249) takes you up the eastern side of the reserve to the junction of the C214 which leads west to Couta Rocks on the coast.
At Corinna a vehicle barge crosses the Pieman River. The service operates on demand between 9am-5pm in winter and 9am-7pm in summer. Phone (03) 6446 1170 for details.
Conventional vehicles can travel along the main arterial roads of this region – from Corinna through to Couta Rocks, and from Marrawah through to Temma. The roads are gravel and their condition will vary. There is no access for conventional vehicles to the southern part of the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area.
Visitors with recreational vehicles (4WD, quad bikes, trail bikes) have a further 80km of recreational vehicle tracks to explore. To drive on these tracks, you need a Recreational Driver Pass, which can be purchased from the online Parks Shop, in-person from a Service Tasmania outlet, or visit the Parks office at Arthur River. Your pass contributes to track maintenance, land management and staffing within the Arthur-Pieman.
Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you as close to the camp site as possible, or to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

THINGS TO DO
The area’s rich Aboriginal heritage is exemplified by middens, hut depressions, artefact scatters and
Rock art. These special places and their associated cultural landscapes show that Aboriginal people had
a special relationship with the land – a relationship which continues with Aboriginal people today.
The reserve provides a range of opportunities for recreation, from camping, surfing and diving to
recreational off-road driving and fishing. Off-road vehicles require a 4WD track permit.
The Arthur River Cabin Park provides more formal facilities including hot showers and laundry. Phone (03) 6457 1212 or 0429 336 223 for fees and bookings.
RULES
Fires are permitted except on Total Fire Ban days. Firewood can be collected from beaches or purchased from a local vendor.
