Great camp near the lake
Lake Mackintosh Campground offers free camping and is located 5kms from the township of Tullah. The pet-friendly site has no facilities and is accessible to self-contained motorhomes, caravans, camper trailers, and big rigs.
This is a Free Camping area provided by Hydro Tasmania.
HOW TO GET THERE
Turn off the Murchison Highway onto Mackintosh Dam Access Road just North of Tullah (clearly signed). Follow the road to the dam and across the dam wall, if the Lake is high and access is closed there is turning space at the end, if not continue along the sealed road until you reach the Camping Area sign, a total of 6.2km from the Highway.
FEES & BOOKINGS
There is no formal charge for the use of this facility, so if you are staying at this site we encourage you to help keep it clean and tidy and support the local community.
RULES
Campers must be self-sufficient as there are no facilities here. Maximum stay of 7 days, take all your rubbish away with you.
THINGS TO DO
The campground is a great place to enjoy nature, bush walking or launch a boat and spend the whole day fishing or swimming on the lake.
