Peaceful free bush camping area. Long-drop toilets and a number of fire pits are the only facilities. BYO wood (can buy at Noojee store).

Campground is closed for upgrades from April to December 2022. Hopefully the “upgrades” won’t spoil the atmosphere of the place.

A large and open free camping area with a few fences separating different areas. Most areas are grassy with excellent steel ring style fire pits.

Although the place was empty when we arrived by the end of the day the whole area was packed with people crowding in to every available space. Possibly a little too close to the city for anybody looking for a real escape.

The river is little more than a creek and the whole area was surrendered by thick blackberry bushes which made bush walking impossible while we were there.

The toilets were clean, but one of them was locked with an out of order sign.

Also watch out for snakes, one little fella kept coming back to its favourite sun baking spot right near one of our tents even after we chased it away a few times.

We did not see any park rangers or police patrolling the are while we were there.
