Aurora Kakadu Resort (CP)

Set in lush tropical rainforest about 2hrs south of Darwin, this large park is a comfortable place to stay for a relaxing break or is perfect to use as a base to explore the world renowned and heritage listed Kakadu National Park which surrounds the site.

As well as having a wide choice of on-site cabins and accommodation to suit two to three people and up to comfortable family sized lodges, the park has sheltered level sites for campers, powered and unpowered. They are suitable for everything from tent sites up to enough room for the motorhomes, buses and big rigs and everything in between. All the modern, well maintained facilities you’d expect or need are provided, including a restaurant and bar and a tennis court. Fuel is also available.

Tour information and bookings are available at reception, or for the more intrepid you can go your own way. Whichever you choose, most people come to the area to view the beautiful natural scenery and abundant wildlife. The park itself is visited regularly by many of the ‘locals’, including wallabies and many species of birds, so you don’t have to go far to meet them. There is also a Nature Walk with viewing platform that starts at the park.

As the site is surrounded by National Park, pets are not permitted at this park.

HOW TO GET THERE
The Resort is 176km east along the Arnhem Highway from the Stuart Highway turnoff. It is alongside the Roadhouse on the right hand side.

Fees are from $30/night unpowered and $40/night with power.
