Set only a few kms back from the southern Victorian Coast Road between Warrnambool and Port Fairy, this family- and pet-friendly park offers campers a wonderful base from which to explore the myriad interesting sights in the region.
The camp sites are large, grassed and level, with or without power, and there is a choice of open or shaded spots depending upon preference or set up needs, including space for the solar panels if you want. The park has easy access for small set-ups, vans or big rigs, so all campers are catered for.
All the amenities of a well-run, modern park are here and with resident caretakers, the grounds and facilities are all well-kept, tidy and clean. The kids’ playground will keep the young ones occupied while you get organised or relax.
Tower Hill is a nature reserve developed within an extinct volcano and contains many native animals and examples of local flora as well as abundant birdlife. It was Victoria’s first declared National Park. Also virtually on the park’s doorstep, the town of Koroit has its own charm, along with a rich and colourful history, and is widely seen as the best example of early Irish settlement remaining in Australia.
The coast has numerous attractions worth a visit, including swimming fishing and walking spots, sights such as the Twelve Apostles and the rugged Victorian ‘Shipwreck Coast’ and several interesting towns all within easy reach. Fishers, walkers, birdwatchers and photographers will all find many places to enjoy in this region. Epicureans, artists and history buffs will appreciate nearby Port Fairy as well as the many other small townships close at hand.
