Port MacDonnell Foreshore Tourist Park is set on a level and grassy 7 acres just metres back from Woolwash Beach on South Australia’s limestone coast. This park is definitely one that should be included in the itinerary. The far south eastern coastal area of SA boasts stunning, rugged coastal views scattered among beaches that are perfect for swimming, fishing, walking and boating.

This is a family friendly park and well behaved pets are permitted within campsites. There are plenty of sheltered sites with power and water that are suitable for campers with all types of setup, from tents and trailers to big rigs. There is plenty of choice for you to find the one that suits your needs. The park and all the amenities are well maintained, clean and modern and are intended to ensure a relaxed and easy stopover. There is an onsite kiosk with drinks, ice, snacks, bait and fishing tackle available. For any other supplies, the nearby township has all the facilities that you will need.

Those requiring on site accommodation can choose from vans with enclosed aluminium annexes, TV, kettle etc. conveniently situated close to the camp kitchen and amenities block, or perhaps the 2, 4 or even 6 bedroom cabins (the latter can accommodate up to 20 people for larger groups) would better suit you and the family. There are also 2 bedroom units and self-contained cabins available that include linen.

The park is only a 30min drive from Mt Gambier and is also surrounded by several conservation areas where bush and beach walkers will be rewarded with spectacular vistas and photographic opportunities including coastal views, local flora, fauna and abundant bird life. The numerous sink holes are a famous attraction for the experienced and permit-holding cave divers. The Little Blue Lake, like a smaller version of Mt. Gambier’s Blue Lake, is a popular local swimming hole.

HOW TO GET THERE
From Mount Gambier take the B66 South to Port MacDonnell all the way to the end and turn left onto Sea Parade. The Park is 1.3km on the right, just after Sea Parade merges into Eight Mile Creek Road.

SITE ACCESS
The driveway is long enough to pull up outside the office to check in.

Nice caravan park, caretakers are very amiable. It cost 10 cents for a shower but they are well worth it
