The Tavern reopened January 2021 with new owners and are again offering camping to patrons for a small donation, power available at a low cost.  Showers are available and leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome.

HOW TO GET THERE
Cathys Tavern is located 36km North West of Tamworth on the Oxley Highway

SITE ACCESS
Turn North into Rokeby Street then left into the Hotel, proceed to the far side of the car park to the grass camping area.  Check-in at the bar before setting up.

FEES & BOOKINGS
There is no formal charge for basic overnight stays (unpowered sites only) but a donation is encouraged, so if you are staying at this site we encourage you to help keep it clean and tidy and patronise the tavern.

The Tavern offers an option of a powered site for a small fee.

NOT FREE. $15 per night. 1 combined shower/toilet up 3 stairs was dirty. I slipped on soapy water coming from under door at bottom of stairs. After dinner returned to van to find van full of ants including bed. Had to pack up and leave as nowhere to sleep. Great to stop for a meal but not camp.

From FRC: Thank you for your review; we have checked the site and basic overnight stays are still free but the charge applies or an option of power hookup with access to shower. We have ameded our entry to reflect this.
