Situated on beautiful Tenterfield Creek, this tidy and quiet campsite is a perfect base for those looking to explore the area, or for just an overnight stay if you’re passing through. The large grassy, open powered and unpowered sites accommodate all sizes and types of tents, vans and rigs, and are serviced by clean amenities.

With so much to see and do in Tenterfield and the surrounding area, every day will bring a new adventure, from the majestic National Parks and nature walks to the many heritage museums, buildings and sites. The railway museum is a favourite spot with visitors, as is a walk up the famous Bald Knob for fabulous 360 degree views of the area. The Tenterfield area has a fascinating geological history.

Being a large country town, Tenterfield has all the usual amenities – choice of pubs and eateries, supermarket, medical facilities and shops.

The local Historic Society display is certainly worth the visit, and you can also see the verandah and workshop where Peter Allen’s grandfather, Tenterfield Saddler George Woolnough, sat and plied his trade.

The entrance to the showgrounds is through the rear gate, and phone bookings are advised to confirm dates and sites.

There is a $4 charge to use the dump site for those not staying at the park, and water is also available, currently $5.

Have stayed here on other occasions and have been impressed. Arrived today 20/3/21 to be very disappointed with the reception from a very rude and ignorant caretaker. Other campers experienced the same. Will drive past on our next trip.

Awesome CG right in the centre of Tenterfield. Walking distance to shops & clubs. Facilities are what you expect from a show grounds. Great camping spot.
