Great overnight spot near the river.
Tilpa Weir Campground is a peaceful spot overlooking the Darling River with no facilities but with amazing birdlife. The pet-friendly site has big trees for shade. It is accessible to caravans and big rigs with an area suitable for tents.
HOW TO GET THERE
Travel South from Louth for 87km on the Eastern side of the Darling River and then turn right onto an unnamed road that has either a sign or (on FRC’s last visit in 2016) just a post. 1.1km along this road you will reach the Weir and most of the camping area is to your right.
Note these are all gravel roads between Bourke and Wilcannia and can be in varying conditions.
