Home Hill Showground is a large level camping spot for caravans and big rigs with basic but clean facilities. It offers powered and unpowered sites with a maximum of 4 nights per calendar month.
HOW TO GET THERE
Home Hill is 102km North of Bowen, or 13m South of Ayr on the Bruce Highway. At the Southern end of town turn West on Hurney Road (oposite First Street) and take the first right into Sixth Avenue.
SITE ACCESS
The entrance is on the left directly off Sixth Avenue.
FEES & BOOKINGS
Fee is from $20/night for unpowered site and $25/night for powered sites.
THINGS TO DO
The Co-operative Mural is a large mural which depicts elements of rural life in the Burdekin, including cane farms, mango orchards and farmhouses. The mural was painted by Ayr artist Margaret Redweik.
Other local attractions are Ashworth’s Treasures of the Earth Rock Display & Jewellery Shop, Tom’s Toy Box, Machinery Display, Charlie’s Hill, and Silver Link Photographic Display.
