Byfield Creek Rainforest Retreat is set midst a beautiful tropical rainforest, to which the Byfield Fern is native and where wildlife abounds. It is a perfect place for camping for they have flat sites on 8 acres of Rainforest and its location is in the middle of national parks and state forest. They have plenty of room open grass area and drinking water is also available at the house. Thus, the place is suitable for self contained caravans. A large covered barbeque area with heated spa pool provides the perfect setting for a relaxing end to the day. Apart from that, it also offers cabin accommodation as well as bed and breakfast accommodation.

With its potteries, canoeing creeks, hidden eateries and 4WD adventures, one can experience a rainforest retreat with a touch of Africa set in tranquil Byfield, Central Queensland. So, come and enjoy the hospitality of their hosts Barry and Jen.

HOW TO GET THERE
From Rockhampton head toward Yeppoon (via the eastern turn-off north of Rockhampton), follow 26 km toward Yeppoon, turn left at Neils Road, follow signs to Byfield (about 40 kms). Richters Road turns off to the right (just before Byfield General Store). Byfield Creek Rainforest Retreat is about 200 metres along on the right.

SITE ACCESS
Along Byfield Rd, you’ll see their signpost right at the corner of Richters Rd showing an arrow sign leading you to the pathway to entrance. Both sides of the road is covered with several trees giving you an impression that you are about to go into the rainforest.

FEES & BOOKINGS

THINGS TO DO
There are numerous walking tracks and canoes are available for use on their nearby Waterpark Creek. Their property also boasts its own natural creek bathing pool and a large covered barbeque area with heated spa pool. You may also book in for a massage or some Bowen Therapy. You have the option to take a bike ride around Byfield, relax with a book, watch a video or have fun around a board game. Take note that there is a range of free DVDs and books available. You may also enjoy coral snorkelling on Keppel Island, a visit to the Koorana Crocodile Farm or the Keppel Bay towns of Yeppoon and Emu Park.
