The Bowen River Hotel is representative of a transitional type of timber construction which led to the development of a distinctive style of architecture in Queensland. The building is one of very few surviving country hotels constructed using bust carpentry techniques.
They welcome caravans and campers in a bush setting.
HOW TO GET THERE
The Bowen River Hotel is 35.4kms west of Collinsville along the Strathmore Rd. Head west on Bowen Developmental Rd/Conway St/State Route 77 toward Stanley St and do the slight veer left at the fork, and a Hotel Sign will be seen, but still have 5kms to go (between the two large dams).

THINGS TO DO
The pub is located near the Bowen River, an ideal place to go fishing and croc spotting. There is also a Rodeo held on the long weekend in June. In and around Collinsville there are several other attractions including Bogie River Bush House, Bowen River Weir. Coal Face Museum, for more information don’t forget to visit the Collinsville Tourist Information Centre.
