Buckenderra Holiday Village (CP)

Buckenderra Holiday Park provides the ideal location to take in all that the Snowy Mountains have to offer and an alternative to the resorts. Known predominantly as Snow Country, the area is suitable all year round with a host of activities also available in the summer months.

The Park is set along 8km of the Lake Eucumbene foreshore and caters for a full range of RV’s, including Big Rigs with powered and unpowered sites available. The sites are grassed, level and spacious with some offering nice shade and lake views. It is well facilitated with a Kiosk and its own private concrete boat ramp for direct access to the lake. They also have a full range of cabins available for those wanting a break from the van or looking to meet up with friends or family who don’t have and RV. As a bonus it is pet friendly on both the campsites and cabins.

Close to the Selwyn Snowfields, Thredbo and Perisher Resorts which are only just an hour’s drive away and ideal day trips. The Snowy Mountains is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. In summer they have some of the best trout fishing around, located on their doorstep on the shore of Lake Eucumbene.

HOW TO GET THERE
From Cooma its 32min away, head along the Snowy Mountains Highway and turn left into Slacks Creek Road which merges into Buckenderra Road in Middlingbank. Then follow Buckenderra Road right through for 6 min, until you see the signs. The Buckenderra Holiday Park is on the right.

SITE ACCESS
Large level entry right next to the Kiosk, just pull up and let them know you have arrived. Entry is wide and sealed, the internal roads are mostly sealed and slope down to the lake.

THINGS TO DO
The park is a great location for fly fishing, as well as boating (with hire available), sailing, water-skiing, swimming or just take in the sun and enjoy a peaceful stroll along the lake. During winter months, Skiers and Snowboarders find the park an ideal location as it is only hours away from Selwyn Snowfields, Thredbo and Perisher Resorts.

Lake Eucumbene
A pristine alpine lake is in the magnificent Snowy Mountains which sits 1200 metres above sea level and considered as one of the best fisheries in the Australian Highlands. One may also find Lake Eucumbene and Lake Jindabyne Fishing Charters an enjoyable activity, taking in the sights while fishing.

Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre
Located in Cooma is a must for any visitor to the Snowy Mountains region. A state-of-the-art visitor facility showcases the amazing history of the Snowy Mountains Scheme; from the early days of construction through to how it is operated by Snowy Hydro today.

Yarrangobilly Caves
Located northern part of Kosciuszko National Park is a perfect destination for family. Explore jaw-dropping caves on a guided tour and swim in the thermal pool. While at Kosciuszko National Park, experience and join snow sports, walks and mountain biking in the Snowy Mountains.

One may also enjoy local events such as the Buckenderra Trout Challenge and Snowy Mountains Trout Festival.
