Hat Head Holiday Park (CP)

Hat Head Holiday Park is surrounded by the unspoilt grandeur of Hat Head National Park at Hat Head, a coastal town on the eastern mid north coast of New South Wales, 459 kilometres north of Sydney and 511 kilometres South of Brisbane. The tranquil seaside village offers the ultimate beach side escape for nature lovers and the seemingly endless beach, sparkling creek, and rocky headland that adjoin the park are a paradise for photographers and fishermen alike and is only 30km north east of Kempsey and 28km south of South West Rocks for main facilities and shopping centres. With access to a boat ramp and a diverse range of magnificent fishing spots, all anglers are virtually guaranteed to bring home a ‘big one’. There are fish cleaning tables at the boat ramp for the successful angler to use and a camp kitchen and bbq area to cook your mouth watering catches. Hat Head is best known for its ocean fishing with good snapper, mulloway, Spanish and spotted mackerel, cobia, pearl perch, marlin, kingfish, drummer, however the creek yields good catches of luderick, bream, flathead, mangrove jacks and bass, whiting and mud crabs. Bird rock and spinning ledge are great for land based game fishing. Delight in strolling through the bush or swimming in the safety of the serene beach with the children. Go snorkelling in the pristine waters of Korogoro Creek and see the fish, occasional sea turtle and other aquatic creatures. Bring your kayak or surf ski and explore the Korogoro Creek waterway. Watch the whales from the headland as they migrate between June and August. The beaches, sand dunes, rainforest and wetlands offer an ideal backdrop for bushwalking, camping or a quiet picnic. A well-equipped playground and lots of open space to ride the bikes will also keep children entertained. Birdwatchers can look for black swans and spoonbills in the park’s wetlands, hawks and eagles soaring above beach cliffs and shorebirds like curlews and plovers around the beach.
