With a population of around 40,000, Orange is a large town in the NSW Central Tablelands on the Mitchell Highway between Bathurst and Dubbo. If you’re planning a trip through this region, you’ll find it a very interesting and worthwhile stopover.

Colour City Caravan Park is located within walking distance of the centre of town. If you visit in autumn, you’ll understand why they call Orange ‘Colour City’, when the vibrant colours of the many deciduous trees are at their most spectacular.

The clean, well maintained grounds and amenities of the park offer campers level powered and unpowered sites for tents and vans, with slabs that should fit the annexe too. They are also large enough to take the motor homes and bigger rigs.

The park also provides a wide range of comfortable on-site cabins, from standard to deluxe, and even a three bedroom cottage to sleep up to eight people, so there is accommodation to suit everyone’s needs.

Being a large city centre, all the facilities you would expect are available in town, including hospital and medical, groceries, restaurants and the like. The local Visitor Centre, complete with Art Gallery and Museum, is also close to the park entrance, so up-to-date information about the locality is close at hand. Orange was also the birthplace of both A.B. “Banjo” Paterson and Kenneth Slessor, two outstanding Australian poets.

The spectacular scenery of the area can be experienced at many local spots, including on a walk through the nearby National Parks, on a hike of Mt. Canobolas or a stroll along the shores of the lake. The region is home to a range of boutique wineries and the local produce is renowned for its high quality, so you won’t leave hungry or thirsty.

Pets are welcome on site (excluding in cabins or the amenities) in own Caravans/tents only.
