Thrushton Woolshed – Thrushton National Park (CG)

Thrushton Woolshed bush camping area offers bush camping beside the old Thrushton Woolshed. The camping area can be reached by 4WD only. It is accessible for high clearance off-road camper trailers in dry weather only.
Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car: walk-in camping: high clearance off-road camper trailers.
Campsite surface: dirt.

SITE ACCESS
Thrushton Woolshed is a further 2 km past Thrushton Homestead and 5 km from the park entrance.
Thrushton is 40 km north-east of Bollon and is accessible only in dry weather. Thrushton National Park is best accessed via the Mitchell-Bollon Road. The Homeboin turnoff to the park from this road is 51 km north of Bollon or 156 km south of Mitchell. Follow the Homeboin-St George Road to the park.
If approaching from St George take the unnamed road that turns north 51 km west of St George. Follow this road (which eventually becomes Cypress Tank Road) for 36.3 km until you reach the Rutherglen Road turnoff. Follow Rutherglen Road for 14.5 km to reach the eastern corner of the park. Please leave all gates as you found them.
From Bollon, travel 14 km east on the Balonne Highway, turn left at the Mourilyan Road and travel 17 km north to the southern boundary of the park. Please leave station gates as you find them.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
Fees for camping permits are:
$5.75 per person per night or $23.00 per family group per night.
$3.20 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.

FACILITIES
There are no facilities on the camp site.

RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
