Herberton Range bush camping – Herberton Range State Forest (CG)

Bush camping sites are not defined. Campers must select their own camp site according to the park-specific conditions. Camp sites can be reached by four-wheel-drive vehicle, trail-bike, mountain bike and on foot. Roads are not accessible for caravans, buses and motorhomes.
Number of sites: no designated or numbered sites. Vehicle-based campers must camp adjacent to formed roads (except the Herberton Range ridge road as camping is not permitted adjacent to this road).
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, walk-in camping and camper trailers.
Camp site surface: dirt.

SITE ACCESS
Camp sites can be found throughout Baldy Mountain Forest Reserve. Vehicle-based campers must select sites adjacent to established roads.
Baldy Mountain Forest Reserve
To access the Mount Baldy walking track, from Atherton travel 1.6 km south on the Atherton Herberton Road. Turn right into Rifle Range Road and travel 590 m. Turn left and park in the small car park on the left. Do not continue on to the rifle range.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.55 per person per night or $26.20 per family group per night.
$3.60 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.

FACILITIES
There are no facilities on this camp ground.

RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
