Camp site 1 is one of the 3 camping areas in Cooloola that is set among fringes of open forest or woodland (melaleuca, allocasuarina, bloodwood and eucalypt species) bordering open heathland plains to the east. All camp sites provide shade. A walking track links each camp site and continues to the Cooloola Sandpatch from camp site 3. On the eastern banks of the upper Noosa River, north of Harrys camping and day-use area. The camp site can cater for a group not more than 8 people. The camp sites can be reached by boat, canoe or walking track (after paddling across the river from Harry’s hut). Vehicle access permits are NOT required to access the camp site.

SITE ACCESS
Along with camp sites 1, 2, and 3, these camps ranges between 15km to 19km from Elanda Point via the upper Noosa River.
Cooloola lies between the coastal towns of Noosa Heads and Rainbow Beach.
Noosa Heads is about 155km (about a 3hr drive) and Rainbow Beach is about 240km (about a 3hr drive) north of Brisbane.
Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.
FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Advance bookings required for holiday periods including long weekends and public holidays.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.55 per person per night or $26.20 per family group per night.
$3.60 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.

Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
