There are two camping areas in Amamoor State Forest Cedar Grove camping area and Amamoor Creek camping area. Both are accessed by unsealed roads that are suitable for conventional vehicles. Grassy campsites are located in rainforest and open forest settings. The open forest is abundant with towering iron bark and blue gum trees. Dogs are permitted here.

Campsites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, caravans, camper trailers, campervans, motor homes, buses, large groups.
Campsite surface: Grass.

SITE ACCESS
Travel 16km west from Amamoor township along the Amamoor Creek Road to Amamoor Creek camping area. About 4km west of Cedar Grove camping area. The access road is unsealed and suitable for conventional vehicles.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual campgrounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.55 per person per night or $26.20 per family group per night.
$3.60 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.
Camping bookings from late July to early September at Amamoor Creek camping area and Gympie Muster camping areas are managed by Gympie Muster Ltd. For camping bookings or enquiries during this period visit the Gympie Muster Website.
For all other time periods, book online, over-the-counter or by phone.

FACILITIES
Water (unsuitable for drinking without treatment as it is pumped from the creek and may contain organisms that can cause illness), toilets, barbecues, individual fire rings (bring your own clean-milled firewood), walking tracks. Open fires: Allowed (except when fire bans apply) only in fire rings provided. Fuel stoves are recommended.
The nearest pay phone is located on the back of the Cedar Grove camping area registration stand.

RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
