There are a total of 20 sites at this location. The location is suitable for Camper Trailers, Camping beside my vehicle, and Tents.
Positioned on an isolated stretch of coast below Smoky Cape lighthouse near Kempsey, Smoky Cape campground is a secluded spot in a million-dollar location. Select your own private area from several pockets of campsites. Then set up your tent or camper trailer and relax in your own little piece of paradise.
You’ll need to be self-sufficient while staying here, but you’re just a short drive from South West Rocks.
Say hello to one of the giant goannas that live in the area. Walk to the beach and enjoy a swim, a spot of fishing or a diving trip out to Fish Rock, one of Australia’s best dive sites.
SITE ACCESS
Unsealed road/trail – 2WD vehicles – All weather.
From Kempsey: Take the South West Rocks Road to South West Rocks Road. Just after the Spencers Creek bridge turn right onto Arakoon Road. Turn right onto Lighthouse Road and follow the signs to Smoky Cape campground.
Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you as close to the camp site as possible, or to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.
FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping $6 per adult per night. $3.5 per child per night. Other Annual pass or daily vehicle entry fee of $8 also required
Bookings are not taken for Smoky Cape campground – camping is on a first come, first served basis. NPWS fee collectors visit campgrounds to collect camping and vehicle entry fees, and sell annual passes for extended visits.
Some National Parks require Fees to Enter the Park. For full details see PASSES & FEES.

RULES
Fires are only permitted in designated fire places and not on the open ground.
There is a limited supply of fire wood available at this campground, however it is a good idea to bring your own.
Water is not available at this campground so you’ll need to bring your own supply.
There are some rubbish bins available at this campground, but please take any left over rubbish with you.
