With its 33 roomy sites, there’s plenty of space for your caravan, as well as for those with camping trailers and Tents. The campground’s location close to the park’s entry and several attractions makes it a convenient place to base yourself and soak up this fascinating ancient landscape.

Immerse yourself in the area’s rich Aboriginal history on a Discovery tour, or set out on the Grasslands Nature trail. And, of course, no visit is complete without a sunset visit to the Mungo lookout. Located within walking distance of the campground, the Walls’ extraordinary colours and captivating scenery are sure to remain in your mind’s eye as you drift off to sleep.

SITE ACCESS
Unsealed road/trail – 2WD vehicles – Dry weather only. The route to the campground includes unpaved roads, generally suitable for 2WD cars, though roads may become impassable in wet weather.

The main campground is in the south western precinct of Mungo National Park. To get there:
From Sturt Highway take Silver City Highway south of Mildura. Turn right into Arumpo Road and follow to the end. The main campground is on the right shortly before the T-intersection.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you as close to the campsite as possible, or to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park, there should be signs to the actual campgrounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping $24.60 per night.
The campground operates on a first-in, first-served basis, and bookings aren’t taken.

FACILITIES
Amenities block, Gas/electric barbecues (free), Wood barbecues (bring your own firewood), Picnic tables, Non-flush toilets. Visitor centre. Just a short drive to Mungo Visitor Centre, where you can access hot showers, flush toilets, and a public phone.

RULES
Water is not available at this campground so you’ll need to bring your own supply.
Wood can be collected from the wood bay near the Mungo Visitor Centre, Alternatively, bring your own firewood for the wood barbecues.
This is a remote campground, please make sure you arrive well prepared.

Given the park’s remote location, it can be a good idea to bring a topographic map and compass or a GPS with you when bushwalking.
Check the weather before you set out as the road to Main Camp campground can become boggy when it rains.
There is no mobile coverage at Mungo National Park.
