Mountain Arm Campground – Yengo National Park (CG)

There are a total of 6 sites at this location. The location is suitable for Camper Trailers, Camping beside my vehicle, and Tents. However, the campground is most suitable for off-road camper trailers and off-road caravans.

Grab a spot on the gently sloping grass and set up camp after an easy drive from Sydney or Newcastle. Only accessible by 4WD, Mountain Arm campground is a peaceful and remote rustic camping site which offers a great family getaway within Yengo National Park, near Windsor.

If you’ve got an off-road caravan or trailer, bring it along, otherwise set up the tent. Choose your spot beside the creek for a tranquil location amidst brilliantly flowering wattles before you set out to explore. The kids will love the shallow creek; great for cooling off on hot days.

There are trails for bushwalking and mountain biking nearby, and Big Yango loop trail offers excellent 4WD touring nearby. You might spot a wombat or swamp wallaby or even a goanna when the weather is warm.

Getting there:
Mountain Arm campground is in the Big Yango precinct of Yengo National Park. To get there:
From Laguna, head south along Great North Road for about 1.6km (look out for all the letter boxes), then turn right onto Yango Creek Road, follow for 2.2km before turning left onto Upper Yango Creek Road.
Alternatively, from Wollombi, join Yango Creek Road in the town just northwest of Wollombi Tavern, and follow for approximately 10km to Upper Yango Creek Road. Continue along Upper Yango Creek Road for 2.4km then turn right after the small wooden bridge and cattle grid and go up the hill onto Finchley track. Follow for 9.2km, passing Finchley lookout. Continue west, veering right onto Yango track, and follow for 13.5km to Big Yango entrance and the locked gate.
Through the gate, follow the trail 5km to the homestead then follow the trail between the homestead and pine trees. About 3km further along, you’ll pass over a sandy causeway to arrive at the campground.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you as close to the camp site as possible, or to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping: $14 per adult per night. $7 per child per night. There is an additional $10 fee for key postage, although the key can be picked up from the NPWS Gosford office, from Monday to Friday. Cancellations must be made a minimum of two weeks in advance of booking. A $22 administration fee applies.
Bookings can be made up to three months in advance.

FACILITIES
Non-flush toilets. Fire rings (bring your own firewood).

RULES
There are no marked sites.
Drinking water is not available at this campground, so you’ll need to bring your own supply, boil, or treat the tank water on site.
Sites are not powered. Rubbish bins are not available B,- you’ll need to take all rubbish when you leave.
Take care in the water and please supervise children at all times.
The weather in the area can be extreme and unpredictable, so please ensure you’re well prepared for your visit.
This park or attraction is in a remote location, so please ensure you’re well prepared, bring appropriate clothing and equipment and advise a family member or friend of your travel plans.
There is limited mobile reception in this park.
Check the weather before you set out as the road to Mountain Arm campground can become boggy when it rains.
No trail bikes or quad bikes are permitted at the campground.
