Mitchell Falls campground offers simple bush camping in a bush setting, located within the Mitchell River National Park.

SITE ACCESS
Access is by 4WD via the Gibb River Road.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions

FEES & BOOKINGS

Fees are from $11/adult per night, $7/concession card holder per night, $3/child per night (over 5 and under 16 years)

No bookings, this Park has a site entry station, payment in cash may be required.

Sites such as this are seasonal and open only during the dry season (April to November maximum); please refer to Parks website for final dates each year.

For full details on both camping fees and park or annual passes refer to https://parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au/park-stay.

FACILITIES
Every campsite has its own fire ring and limited wood is provided for cooking (you may not collect wood from the park and please do not bring your own as it can spread weed seed and plant disease). Preferably use your own portable gas or fuel stove. There are sealed vault pit toilets and water is available from Mertens Creek, water collected at a point upstream but should be boiled before use.

THINGS TO DO
You are allowed to swim downstream but please do not use soap. Rangers are based in the campground from May to October. There is a helipad (and booking office) at the campground, where you can arrange a scenic flight to the Mitchell Plateau. It is possible to fly one way and walk back (or vice versa)
Very few campgrounds have waste bins – take all waste with you when you leave.
