Looking for a true Outback experience? Next stop, Discovery Parks – Pilbara, Karratha (formerly Pilbara Holiday Park and Big4 Discovery Parks – Pilbara, Karratha).
Karratha means ‘good country’ in the language of the local Indigenous community and you’ll be awestruck by the raw, natural treasures of the Pilbara in Australia’s North West. The massive gorges, crystal clear rock pools and waterfalls of Karijini National Park are a must-see. Just off the coast, the Dampier Archipelago and Mackerel Islands offer world-class boating, fishing, diving and snorkelling and the seasonal natural phenomenon, Staircase to the Moon, is extraordinary. Our holiday park’s excellent accommodation choices are perfect for resting up at the end of a long day.

THINGS TO DO
Watch the natural phenomenon ‘Staircase to the Moon’ which occurs when the full moon rises over the exposed mudflats of Nickol Bay at extremely low tide, creating the optical illusion of a staircase reaching for the moon.
A must do while in the Pilbara is the Pilbara Resources Tour – a behind the scenes look at Rio Tinto Cape Lambert Operations.
Visit the Cossack Heritage Trail and learn about the men and women who came to the Pilbara region over 150 years ago and how they shaped Australia into the country it is today.
