This Help Out opportunity is organised via BlazeAid.  A volunteer-based organisation that works with families and individuals in rural Australia after natural disasters such as fires and floods.

It is a great opportunity to Help Out someone in the Cobargo area.  In return, you will be provided with a place to park your RV at no cost.  Volunteers will have to be self-sufficient as on most occasions they will be staying on properties in locations that do not allow for daily commutes.  In some cases, but not all, facilities including food, power, and water may be available.

Each campsite will vary in its conditions.  Please read the conditions below, or visit the BlazeAid website directly for more details.

Please contact the basecamp at least the day prior to your intended arrival so we can include you in a team and put your name on the dinner list.  If possible, you should aim to arrive prior to 5pm.

BREAKFAST: From 6:30am

MUSTER:  7:00am  Mandatory for all volunteers working that day.
**If you are volunteering for a day at a time then returning home, you MUST be at our basecamp no later than 7 am each morning and we MUST know that you are coming.

Meals are provided for volunteers, but please bring your own snacks. Breakfast and a nourishing two-course evening meal are provided by BlazeAid (with help from local community groups) at the basecamps.

Where possible, the families you’re working with will provide morning tea and lunch for volunteers each day. Otherwise, BlazeAid provides food for you to make your own sandwiches to take with you.

Please note, if you have special dietary needs you will need to bring your own food if you are not able to eat the meals provided.

Bring your own Caravan/Camper/Tents/Swags, Showers and Toilets provided.

For those who don’t have a caravan, etc, we have “pods”, which are like a rigid tent. You can stand in them, they have a bed and seal against the weather. They have electric light and power points. Please enquire when you call.

The camp has a well-equipped laundry (washers and dryers)PPE High-vis vests are supplied, as are gloves and eye protection. You need to bring strong footwear, preferably long sleeves and long trousers (safety, sun and snake protection).

Cobargo basecamp is well equipped with all tools for fencing. There is no need to bring any tools. All travel to work-sites is done in BlazeAid vehicles. BlazeAid has robust trailers.

Bring weather-appropriate work clothing. Evenings can be cool, even in summer.

Cobargo is close to Bermagui and the coast. It is picturesque. You may have an opportunity to visit these, and even get in an ocean swim.
