Aberfeldy River Camping Area has eight sites and offers easy access to the Aberfeldy River. It is a Tent only camp site and unsuitable for Caravans and Motorhomes, vehicles are unable to drive onto all camp sites. Some campsites are a short walk (30m) from the carpark.
It is located within the Baw Baw National Park. Baw Baw Plateau and sections of the Thomson and Aberfeldy River valleys, Baw Baw National Park offers colourful wildflowers in early summer and open grassy plains with Snow Gum woodlands.

SITE ACCESS
Baw Baw National Park is situated approximately 120 kilometres east of Melbourne and 50 kilometres north of the Latrobe Valley. Aberfeldy River Camping Area is accessed from the historic township of Walhalla or across the dam wall of the Thomson Reservoir. Access is 4WD only and not suitable for caravans. The Baw Baw Alpine Resort which adjoins the park can be reached from the Princes Highway at Drouin by following the Mount Baw Baw Tourist Road.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the National Park entrance or as close to the camp site as possible. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Fees no longer apply to basic category campgrounds. For all stays up until 30 June 2015, you will still need to book a campsite, but no fees will be charged. After 1 July 2015, no bookings will be taken for campgrounds where fees do not apply. Camping will be first in, first-served.
A 100% discount will apply to the Basic campsite fees when proceed with your booking.

FACILITIES
The camping area has a non-flush toilet. Fireplaces are provided at the camping area. Firewood collection is prohibited in Baw Baw National Park. Please bring your own firewood.

THINGS TO DO
Activities include camping, fishing and horse riding. You can also visit The Narrows and Beardmore.

RULES
All the plants and animals in the park are protected. Leave the park as you find it.
Bins are not provided. Please take your rubbish with you.
Light fires only in the fireplaces provided. Learn more about campfire safety.
Firearms are only permitted in the park according to hunting regulations. Please refer to the hunting page.
Keep to designated tracks.
Dredging and gold fossicking are not permitted.
Vehicles and motorbikes may be used only on roads open to public vehicles. All vehicles must be registered and drivers licensed.
